The dust-particle sizes determine which of the four ISO 16890 group classifications (ePM1, ePM2.5, ePM10, and course dust) the filters fall under. The &#8220;e&#8221; in the group name stands for &#8220;efficiency&#8221;. \u201cPM\u201d stands for \u201cparticulate matter.\u201d A prerequisite for each group is that a filter captures at least 50 % of the appropriate fine-dust particle size.\u00a0 For example: If a filter from group ePM1 is tested, it must capture at least half of the PM1 contaminants. If a filter captures less than 50 % of PM10 particles, it is assigned to the \u201ccoarse\u201d group.<\/p>\n<h2>Filter Media<\/h2>\n<p>BBF Filtertechnik utilizes synthetic media and cellulose materials, depending on the specific application. This applies to particle filters as well as high-quality activated charcoal filters. All filter media complies with DIN EN 779 and DIN EN ISO 16890 standards. Testing according to <strong>ISO 16890 standards<\/strong> is carried out with particle sizes ranging <strong>from 0.3 \u00b5m to 10 \u00b5m<\/strong>.
